Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 12, 2025
Pike ("we", "the app") helps drivers find upcoming highway exits and nearby services. Your privacy matters — here's exactly what Pike does and doesn't do with your data.
Location Data
Pike uses your device's location to find nearby highway exits and points of interest.
- Free tier: Your approximate location (latitude and longitude) is sent to the Pike API to retrieve exit and POI data for your current area. This data is used solely to serve your request and is not stored, logged, or shared.
- Pike Plus (offline mode): All exit and POI lookups happen entirely on your device using a local SQLite database. No location data is transmitted to any server.
Crash Reports & Diagnostics
Pike uses Sentry to collect crash reports and error diagnostics. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Sentry may collect device metadata (model, OS version) and stack traces. No personally identifiable information is collected beyond what is standard in crash reports.
What We Don't Do
- No user accounts or sign-in
- No analytics or behavioral tracking
- No advertising or ad networks
- No third-party data sharing or selling
- No cookies
Data Sources
Exit and POI data is sourced from OpenStreetMap (ODbL license) and the Name Suggestion Index for brand normalization.
